What a handsome boy!

Despite his sudden growth spurt and gangly legs, Milo is such a handsome puppy! Usually during this time they are absolutely hideous, but Milo is pretty darn cute. I think he's going to be a very good looking adult. He's doing spectacularly with the training, and we're already up to about a 30-second stay along with the sit, down, wait, heel, and "off" (VERY important) commands. Pretty good for such a young little guy!

Milo at the beach

Milo experienced the beach for the first time today! He loved the way the sand felt under his feet- I could tell because he zoomed around and around and around in it- and he loved chasing the surf! He was hilarious and by the time we got back to the hotel he was so filthy and looked like a different breed of dog. I can tell he's really going to love the water when he matures.

Zoomies...

Milo has been getting the "puppy zoomies," those crazy little bursts of energy that puppies randomly get as they're growing! Every time he gets a case of the zoomies, he sprints all around the living room, making figure eights and circles around Ziva.

He is not 100% successful at walking both up and down the stairs, always sits and waits for his food and water, and now goes in the crate on command and does not cry. I cut his nails today and gave him a bath after playing with all the other dogs, and he was so good! We're working on "puppy pushups" where he sits, then lies down, then sits, etc. etc. Super cute!

Doggy Extravaganza

So this is the second time I've taken Milo out to the intramural fields where we practice coming when called and being nice to other dogs when off the leash. He's pretty good about not running off with other people (although every time he's tried, they haven't complained because he's so adorable). So today he played with Twinkie and Hunter (the black flat-coat looking one and the small yellow one) and a Cane Corso named Malachai and a French Bulldog named Jabba, and Ziva of course.

Updates

Milo is such a playful little guy! He loves to run around with Ziva, chasing the falling leaves. They find the orange and yellow leaves extremely entertaining. He's doing well in the crate and has stopped barking completely when left in there over night. He's good around the house and has almost stopped potting (less than 2 accidents per week). He sits perfectly when waiting for his food. Milo is such a good boy!

I will post photos soon. I'm going to try to take Milo and Ziva out to the intramural fields where the leaves are all changing and get some nice fall pictures!

What a little stinker

Milo is quite a little stinker! He's so mischievous and plays with his friend Ziva until they are both sacked out on the floor. He's doing well walking on lead and potting on lead, and we've been working on "sit." He's going to be an obedience champion any day now!

Milo

Milo and his friend Ziva, owned by Karen Harman

Milo is a sweet nine week old puppy from the Georgia x Troy litter bred by Jane Moore of GoldStrike Goldens (http://goldstrikegoldens.com/index.asp?ID=13). He has the best disposition and is extremely laid back yet inquisitive! I can't wait to begin training. He is getting acclimated to his new settings and making friends with the neighbors' dogs. Seeing him next to a 100 pound German Shepherd was shocking! Please keep checking back for updates about his training. As with Guinness and Rainy, Milo will go home with basic, CD-level obedience training, house training, and adequate manners.
